Feeling more human, Starbucks, Nebraska

So, we're up after about 5 hours sleep and we just got some Starbucks in Nebraska. FYI there's one in North Platte off the 80. We're feeling a little more human...we're both feeling the 15 hours of driving yesterday. Too bad we had to concentrate on driving in the Rockies. It was raining and there were some breathtaking views til it got dark (I will post a couple more pics after the fact on my pursuit of the rainbow) . We stopped at this one town (in search of the holy coffee bean), and when we came out of the market (of course, without any f-cken bean) the air actually smelled so fresh it had this cinnamon quality to it and you think - - "I could live here."

But back to Nebraska....It's already 84 degrees and it's about 10am. It's probably gonna be a long, hot day...have to admit, something about this heartland scenery makes me wanna stop and get a really decadent breakfast. I know I once ate somewhere with my dad on a road trip through here and it was  very green...really humid...anyone know where the restaurant is in Omaha where I ate with my dad a bazillion years ago? Errrrrrhhh, I didn't think so!

Well, we're supposed to drive another 15 hours today, but partway through morning coffee I'm all of a sudden thinking "I love driving!"

PS. Public service announcement - - the Jetta we rented, IS kicking axe...

PPS. The drive through Utah into the Colorado Rockies is absolutely stunning but definitely a lot slower going than the 40. I'm a little mixed about whether I'd do it again if I had a tight driving schedule. But it is INCREDIBLY beautiful, sorta deserves its own special trip.
