Avoidance

Early on I discovered that on certain days it is incredibly hard to settle into creativity. Be it making music or painting or writing a story....I can't always easily drop down to that place (it's a process). For years I have laughed about how one minute I am working on something (and resisting) and the next minute I find myself cleaning the toilet....or something absurd like that.  It's always "one more thing, one more thing....I just need to move that pillow on the couch....THEN I can get to my art".....really comical...pure raw unadulterated avoidance.

So today.....I opened this song on my laptop but I decided I had to wear my cool shoes in order to work on this song....and then I needed some make-up fake tan on my legs....cause they're too white....and THEN I really needed to take a picture and talk about it on this blog.....

You see how this goes.....

I am now officially publicly declaring....I am going back to my song....I swear it.
